The JET Programme (Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme) is a program run by the

The program invites young graduates from around the world to come to Japan to work as Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) or Coordinators for International Relations (CIRs).
The program typically starts in late July or early August of each year. The main responsibilities of ALTs are to assist Japanese teachers in the classroom, mainly in the areas of teaching English language and culture.
CIRs will work with local governments and various organizations to promote international exchange and mutual understanding between Japan and other countries

EligibilityÂ
To be eligible for the JET Programme, you will typically need to meet the following
requirements:
Nationality: You must be a citizen of a country that has diplomatic relations with Japan.
Age: You must be between 20 and 30 years of age at the time of departure for Japan.
Education: You must have completed a bachelor's degree or equivalent by the time of departure for Japan.
Language proficiency: You must have a good command of spoken and written English.
Additionally, depending on the type of position you are applying for, you may be required to
have a certain level of proficiency in Japanese.
Health: You must be in good physical and mental health.
Criminal record: You must have no criminal record.
Commitment: You should be committed to promoting mutual understanding between Japan and other countries and be willing to adapt to living and working in Japan.
Residence: You must have lived in your country of citizenship for at least three of the last six years prior to the start of the program.
Visa: You must be able to obtain a proper visa for your stay in Japan.
